Say “No” to Leeds Bradford Airport Expansion

The post-Covid world will be different from the world we knew before. The case for increased air transport capacity, increasing the number of flights and the times at which take-offs and landings can take place, cannot be justified and it would most probably be at the cost of a dilution of flights from other regional airports anyway.

So the case for the expansion of Leeds Bradford Airport just cannot be justified. Watch this amusing dialogue between my son-in-law and his doppelgänger on the subject and then act if you agree with him.

A map of Cardiff

So much to search for, the traces of a Cardiff that no longer exists. The railway stations that have gone (2); the covered canal (Churchill Way); the canal that’s moved (by the New Theatre); the canal tunnel(s) – Crockherbtown (Queen Street East) and beside the castle and Queen Street West; was there a canal “flyover” near the Law Courts; presumably the original route of the Glamorganshire Canal went down to meet the Taff before Brunel moved the river for his Great Western Station? I also didn’t know that Bute Street originally extended to The Hayes!

Great fun.
